Description
On the day that I arrived back in Prague, my friend Stepan was wearing the same green and white socks I'd seen him wearing when I left. Obviously he hasn't been wearing them all this time, but it's a nice note of circular continuity...a phenomenon that Prague is known for. You always wind up at some point you thought you'd passed. Time here is circular, or at least playfully recursive, and Stepan's socks are...well...you can see for yourself. The other guys in the Picture are a retired agricultural specialist who spent more time in California than I did...a DJ (the guy in glasses) and an off duty bartender. These were among the people I missed the most when I left Prague and they're 4 great reasons to be back!
I'd wanted to capture something of my favorite bar here and this is what I wound up with...but hey, you gotta love Stepan's socks!
As always, thank you for viewing and commenting, and hopefully you enjoy this image as much as I enjoy the wild (and sedate) company I've kept with the guys IN the picture.

Excellent capture of a very popular-these-days setting and environment. There is a great sense of individuality that is captured in the going-on's of the setting..... Everyone seems to be unique and preoccupied in their own little world. The sox.... well, I think it says a lot about a person who can match like that :) hehe....... Most definitely it is important to keep that part of the body warm. Very brave and courageous Stepan.... He seems as though he is one of the few that can get away with this sense of style............ It's always great to see individuality... Superb image and capture! Natural and unique!

They say photography captures a moment in time and thats what you've done. Plus a philosophical narrative to go with each shot makes it so much more interesting. At one point I thought you were as European as I am.

I love the mood captured of each person as an individual...but the guy in front...the older gent, he looks so sad....or maybe just a wee bit tired...hugs to him from me....as for the socks...I agree, we got to love them...great shot my friend!
