My carriage was still just inside the exit of a tunnel here. East Lancashire Railway UK.

An excellent photo. Does that bring back memories. I used to stick my head out of the window and get peppered with the residue of that cheap, bituminous coal they used to burn after WWII. Thanks for sharing!!!

Fantastic shot!!! Absolutely wonderful mood. I've taken a lot of pics onboard a train, I know how you have to juggle the lay of the track ahead with the predicted backdrop at the angle you might be at and a quick capture at just the right second... these onboard shots are not easy to choose and capture! You did a magnificent job here!
