Description

Shot taken on Saturday in Colwyn Bay, North Wales, whilst out with Chrissy, aka BibbyBear, and her son Rob. The weather was terrible - wet and too windy for using tripods, so because of the low light conditions (and not using tripod) this was taken using a very high ISO and then de-grained in photoshop, which is why this looks more water colour than photograph. I have also slightly altered curves and levels, but the colours are pretty much the same as from the camera. Thanks for looking and any comments and critique are more than welcome!

Well, as you said, no tripod availability for this shot - we were standing in "quick sand" after all and a sinking tripod is not much use LOL!! I think you did an amazing shot here Carl, I thought mine were OK on the screen until I saw yours! And I happen to really like what you've done here in postwork too - the "watercolour" effect is an added bonus. The blues are brilliant and I can almost feel the cold chill again just looking at this picture. The haziness to the moon really adds depth and and the shimmering reflections on the wet sand definitely creates an almost haunting atmosphere to the capture. I love this one Carl, a brilliant capture under extremely difficult conditions. Hugs xox

Again - the mood here is amazing. I love the blue in this image. Very beautiful work my friend. All things considered with the elements that were facing you, it worked out well... :-)

Nothing wrong with making adjustments in Photoshop. Too bad you couldn't use a tripod. It is a great capture!
