Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I will never forget when I visited a Redwood Forest a few years back when staying in California for a short time. The whole experience was amazing and humbling - I love this shot it is indeed totally full of texture, colour tones, and lighting - fabulous - hugs Jane xx

This is an amazing shot, and a truly different view of the great redwoods. Fantastic choice of view! The colors and the textures simply pop out at you and the whole composition is just top notch. Great work, as always!

Red is Red...nice...

Oh my goodness, as a tree bark devotee, I must say that this shot is just gorgeous in its display of texture, color, clarity and lighting! Redwoods rock! With the shredded and splintered look, is this a normal state of affairs with redwood bark, possibly shedding its exterior, or simply an anomaly?

Excellent shot

You must know this, but I found it amazing to learn that the seeds of this tremendous tree are activated following a wildfire. It's as though an unseen, masterful hand reached out and decreed, "Thou shalt survive the temporary discomfort purging wildfire and be abundant!" Oh, I'm sure that's only a codicil of the theory of evolution and natural selection.

Love the colors and textures. I also like this type of stuff. Gnarly bark and trees. Nice job. Aloha
