Renderosity has opened a whole new world to me, its a fantastic place and have had some brilliant support from many new friends.  I retired from work very early through ill health so I took to photography from the very basics.
Since joining I have grown in confidence with my photography and I now think because of RR that I take it a little more seriously. I started off here using a Fuji Finepix 6500fd, it took some great pictures but I'm hooked now so I have now(April 2008) bought a DSLR SAMSUNG DX10 and having fun learning the settings etc. ( these things take me a while lol)ÂÂ
I am so fortunate to be with a wonderful person in my life, Sylvia. She is not just my partner but of course she's also my best friend. Previously I have been married but seperated a few years ago and have two fantastic children. I NOW have two fantastic grandchildren !!!
My interests are photography, i have had a dabble at Acrylic painting, and I enjoy long walks out in the countryside.      I also have an interest in anything historical.  I want to have a sample of just about everything there is in photography, who knows what the future holds!
Thanks for calling by.    Alan

A beautiful Building and shot, Alan. My heart is sinking thinking of it's fate... I agree with you, it is special. I lived in Fallowfield before I moved to Bay. This is a wonderful work! Have a happy night. Hugs. Di. xx

Excellent capture and thank you for sharing this House history with us.

The history of this building is very interesting! What could happen?

A neat picture Alan, and an unusual looking house. Your comment to this upload sounds ominous. Interesting history. Buildings barely a 100 years old are historical landmarks in Phoenix, Sig.....

dont tell me they are going to flatten it !! there are some real gems in this country and this is one of them .we only have our history for the generations to come to learn about how we were in the past. maybe not as interesting to schoolkids but as they get older i think we become more interested in our past and find a need to learn about things .i know i have learnt more since leaving school than i ever did whilst at it lol :o)..excellent presentation alan and i really hope i`m wrong mick

Well I can tell you, you are wrong Mick, but I will not tell, I will let the image that Alan uploads tomorrow tell the tale. I used to pass this great house every fortnight for close on twelve years, as one of my duties whilst working for the local council. I was close to tears when I learned what had happened. This is an excellent capture Alan, and is now worth more as an historical artifact for that is what it has become. Certainley one to be treasured as a record of what it was like. Great shot of a beautiful historic building, and has to be a favourite for me. Bravo!!!!!

Looking at the chimney and surrounding condition of the roof I'd say its days are numbered. What a strange and gaudy place. Great shot.

As soon as I saw this picture I recognised it. I lived in Middleton Junction for 15 years (my dad worked at AVRO, I think its called Hawker Siddley Aviation now) before coming to live in South Africa with my parents. Thank you for taking this picture, for uploading it today and for bringing back fond memories of the dear old Junction (which started out as a village called Jumbo, so I've heard:-) )Great shot, it is going into my favourites straight away!!!!

certainly an unique structure but I can see the hand writing on the roof.just a good snow from collapsing. so many here want to tear down the old houses but various historical groups fight them tooth and nail.good you took this before it met it's fate
