Description

[besy viewed full sized] A shot of the river Dee from the top of the Dee Bridge (I think that's the name of the bridge anyway) taken a couple of weeks ago. The industrial complex on the left is the local power station. I had gone with the intention of shooting a sunset through the bridge structure, but unfortunately the sun is dropping too early at this time of year and needs another two or three months until it is composing itself over the bridge again. I'll be back there then, when hopefully it's warmer and less windy as well, if in fact it is ever less windy! Postwork included a slight change in levels, a run through USM and a little dodge and burn on the river to show more detail. Thanks for looking, and any comments and critique are more than welcome!

though you didnt get the capture you wanted, you still managed to make use of a great location and obtain a wonderful shot. Excellent work on the post work as well, would not have noticed it had you said nothing. Great work!

Well firstly, it's actually known as the Flintshire Bridge (one of three I believe!) and is one of the most photographed bridges in this area as it is fairly impressive in its structure however, I will wait patiently for your sunset shot over the bridge in a few months (Feb/March are the best months for these types of shots though!) but in the meantime, this is a classic shot of the River Dee - a notoriously dangerous river!! I love the way you have captured the curve as it meanders into the distance, out to sea and the composition with the power station makes for an interesting contrast between the beauty Mother Nature has provided us with and the man-made structures alongside. I think you've done a great job with the postwork, subtle but worthwhile. An impressive capture, especially considering how much the wind can blow you around up there on the bridge - 120m up in the air (I know, I have been up there myself!!!) Great work babe. Hugs xox

I am so impressed by the lighting which has assisted in the overall mood. This kind of shot tempts me to stare for ages, just musing on the meander to the sea. Wonderful!
