Incredible rock formation, Errol. I dread to think what might be crawling around inside it. Not sure I would be brave enough to inspect. Wonderful capture. Aloha. Diane.

Excelent shot Errol. I guess long time ago when a volcano erupted huge molten rocks like this were flying everywhere. This one preserved for us to see.

I don't know why, but it looks like a broken heart of stone rising up out of the lava field in this POV... would look different from another angle I am sure. They are brave to venture a closer look~ =)

Yes, that is an unusual rock formation, and very wise of you to include your friends in this shot for size comparison. Really like the DOF, contrast and textures displayed.

Wow. It looks like you could climb in there. Who knows what you might find? A portal to another universe? Steps leading to an underground cavern? Amygdaloid formations? The possibilities are endless! :) Great shot.

If I saw that here, I'd guess it was a pyroclastic bomb, blown out of the volcano intact. But this looks like a "bubble" that got extruded and then drained. Excellent shot, whatever its origin. :-)

Unusual indeed! One wonders how this came to be, when all the other flowing lava was mainly flat. Interesting find!
