Description
This is my attempt at a holiday image and a tribute to my good friend Paul or better known as (PJLawson) Paul is someone I'm so glad to have met because of his kindness and his ability to make me laugh. His attention to detail is amazing and I was instantly hooked on his Have To Please The Characters series the moment I saw it. FernElla & PJ have brought me hours of adventure and smiles so I wanted to return the favor to them and their amazing creator with this true story from my past.
Silent Night - Scary Night: Before I begin let me take you back one year before. While on a downtown shopping spree for Mego Action Figures my Mom apparently lost her mind for a moment and reached down and hoisted me up onto the lap of a rather loud and annoying total stranger all dressed in red. My memory is clear of seeing the tears stream down Veronica's face as she screamed out MOMMA NO ! This set off what we refer to to this day as The Episode, where I put up a valiant struggle kicking and screaming until that horrifying stranger let me go. We return to present day now and our parents have dropped us off at our Grandparents once more except this time even our older sister Donetta was forced to come despite her please to not.
Grandma was late getting home from her job at the garment factory and poor Grandpa who apparently didn't know about the episode a year ago had a surprise for us. He slipped off into the back room and much to our shock out came that horrible man in red, this time right in our grandparents home. Veronica and I stood frozen in fear until he picked up a present and then grabbed Veronica. Apparently he had learned his lesson about trying to abduct me from the year before and has set his sights on Veronica. As you can imagine this was all it took for all hell to break loose as Veronica screamed out (Help, he's got me) and I pulled trying to save her yelling for him to let go. All this time our older sister Donetta who was always embarrassed to be around us anyway stood back staring upon this scene in disgust and rolling her eyes.
The good news is Veronica and I were able to break free of this Christmas terror and flee to our bedroom and hide under the bed. This also signaled the end of Santa for us as our sister Donetta came into the bedroom carrying Santa's cap and told us. (Hey you two morons it's only Grandpa dressed up as Santa) LOL
Okay if you were brave enough to make it through my Christmas tale I congratulate you, it not I can't say as I blame you really but I at least hope you got a smile. Thanks again Paul for your friendship. And to all my friends here at R'osity thanks for all you've done for Veronica and myself. Hugs to all,
Dave
Credits will come later as I am posting this early before work.

Beautiful work and story Dave and dedicated to a wonderful person and friend...I can't remember ever being afraid of Santa but my kids and grandkids sure were...Just 2 weeks ago my youngest daughter had to sit on Santa's lap holding her 2 youngest daughters to have their pic taken cause they were scared to death of him.

A wonderful story and I read it to my husband and we both had a good laugh!!! I found out that Santa didn't exist on an other way. We had a big wardrobe,m that was always open, only a few weeks before Christmas the key got always lost. My Mom opened and closed it a lot, but the key came in her pocket not in the lock. One time my parents went to the neighbours and I stayed at home and surprise!!, the key was in the lock. I opened it up and found all this things I wanted for Christmas in it. When my Mom came home I sat on the floor in front of the wardrobe and read in a book, I remember it like today "Heidi" by Johanna Spiri, which was thought as a Chrismas gift! The loud voice of my Mom and what she told me, when she told me off, was the end of Santa!!!LOL Thanks for sharing ths wonderful story with us! Merry Christmas to you and all your loved one!!! Hugs Ute
