Description

I wanted to do this dedication for Cathy or known to many as the artist ( Goldilocksuk ) because of what she has meant to me as a friend. Lately I've been struggling with some things and reading her wonderful stories from her childhood has helped me feel better. I've selected this one but in all honesty she has several I'd love to bring to life. Thanks for helping me to smile lately Cathy, I hope I can return the favor. Smallest Heroes: Cathy and her sister spent a lot of time on a farm that was in back of where they lived. She spent hours riding her bike everywhere for miles in the countryside. One day while out Cathy and her sister came upon a terrible scene as a small dog had just been hit by a car and instead of stopping other cars kept driving alongside the dog who was hurt and laying in the road. Cathy and her sister marched out to the center of the road where the dog was and they rescued the little dog. Cathy is pictured waving for cars to stop as her sister checks on the dog. She told of how it shook like a leaf when they carried it to the neighbors house. But the good news is they found the owner and the dog ended up being okay. You hear so much about sports heroes and so on but for me the greatest heroes are the one's like Cathy who are the smallest one's. They take the risk and never expect a reward, they do what many adults are too selfish to do and they do it out of the goodness of their heart. You may not have realized it Cathy but your story of your sister and you saving the little dog really touched me the more I pictured it in my mind. You know my routine, Dave, so you know that I first went to Cathy's gallery, which led me to Steve's. I am so sorry that Cathy had had to once more show great courage. That she has done so and continues to do so, is obvious by this story and her words and those of her husband. I wish them both the best as Cathy fights this terrible illness. I do not know her family's circumstances, but I wish her sister and other loved ones strength and support during this time. This is a wonderful story and image, that melts my heart. How beautiful that Cathy and her sister showed their mettle and stepped in to save the injured dog. As he lay there shivering, somewhere in his fear, he knew that something wonderful had just happened and he was not alone. I love your image! The poses and expressions show so clearly what each girl is thinking. Cathy's sister cares only for the comfort she can give the injured dog. She cradles him in her arms and bends down low to speak gentle and comforting words. Cathy is protecting both the dog and her sister. There is worry and determination in her eyes and stance, as she makes herself as big as possible, and commands the cars to stop. They are heroes of the best kind. Brave, loving and selfless. Beautiful, and inspiring deed, story and image.

Immagine molto bella e realistica ! Image very nice and realistic! Unfortunately, documenting a rather ugly fact: The person that hit the dog did not even deign to look. a bad example for mankind. Thank goodness there are children! With their innocence and goodness you are worried about the little dog and did not hesitate to help him but with some risk. I believe that children are the greatest invention in the world!

Beautiful illustration for a touching story, Dave. A fine dedication for Cathy, and a good childhood memory. It was brave to save the dog i think. Traffic is a dangerous place for both kids and animals.

And this is a great lesson for everybody! Many animals are leave on the road or on the side of road in same conditions. Some drivers are not disturbed by idea to pass on these poor beings. Nice composition of the scene, and expression on the Cathy face. Have a good day!
