Description

From my last post, Lady Carrie and Myron calls me to look at these two twin pit craters. Pit Crater are craters formed by sinking in of the surface, not primarily a vent for lava. One of the craters were partially filled with cinder and sand. The other was very deep. Lady Carrie threw a rock into the pit and it took about 8 to 10 seconds before it hit bottom. We were not going to step over the edge to take a look down as there were many red flags signaling us not to. Dennis (Cosine) was right when he said "I'll bet they found something green" [ "click here" ]. There was more green vegetation in these pit craters than on the surface within a 3 mile radius from here. Aloha and thank you for viewing

The details here are so infinite! I love this shot, so many colors, textures, plants and details in one spot where you would think there would be none. Superb capture!
