Renderosity has opened a whole new world to me, its a fantastic place and have had some brilliant support from many new friends.  I retired from work very early through ill health so I took to photography from the very basics.
Since joining I have grown in confidence with my photography and I now think because of RR that I take it a little more seriously. I started off here using a Fuji Finepix 6500fd, it took some great pictures but I'm hooked now so I have now(April 2008) bought a DSLR SAMSUNG DX10 and having fun learning the settings etc. ( these things take me a while lol)ÂÂ
I am so fortunate to be with a wonderful person in my life, Sylvia. She is not just my partner but of course she's also my best friend. Previously I have been married but seperated a few years ago and have two fantastic children. I NOW have two fantastic grandchildren !!!
My interests are photography, i have had a dabble at Acrylic painting, and I enjoy long walks out in the countryside.      I also have an interest in anything historical.  I want to have a sample of just about everything there is in photography, who knows what the future holds!
Thanks for calling by.    Alan

A beautiful foto; I love the mossy green and the rusty gate. But the story that goes with it is equally fine, history right in front of us!!

Great capture Alan, and a fantastic narrative to go with it, I new a little about the doctors but did not know that they have a trail named after them. This is what I like about RR especially when there is history or a story to go with the image but then you already know this.lol. Excellent pov and like Marilyn, I like the moss at the bottom of the dry stone wall, that looks like it could do with a little TLC. Bravo!!!!!

Great composition with such soft and lovely tones. I love the structure of the rocks, and the way they seem to be a protective shield of sorts, so beautifully and perfectly layered upon eachother. A lovely capture, with such an essence of historical significance behind it!
