Description

What's a Mother to do III {Parents just don't understand} With Ahmes still away on her pilgrimage, Hatshepsut relaxes having a bit to eat before dressing for a night of music and dance at KV~20/20; a sort of ancient Egyptian version of Studio 54. Sinking back in her chair she pouts speaking to her best friend Makeda, a princess from the neighboring kingdom of Sheba. "Parents just don't understand". Shaking her head she says, "How can someone be so far behind the times; stuck in some ancient aristocratic world of contrite bourgeoisie antiquity" Then rolling her eyes she begins mimicking her Mother. "A woman of such royal lineage dosent sit like that". "You're going to be Queen one day why don't you try dressing like it; and we wont even talk about what you"ve done to your hair". "The daughter of Thuthmose the living God working on a chariot like a commoner. Not even a common peasant girl, but a scruffy peasant boy" Makeda laughs. "Yeah" Hatshepsut replies laughingly. "And what man wants a wife who can pin him down". Makeda then gives her a wicked glance and says, " Its us girls that have to pin them down anyway; but just let them think they are the ones doing the pinning". lol Femi, a servant girl standing in the alcove behind them listening to all this turns to another servant saying, "The girls destined to become the most powerful woman in the known world and shes crying because mommy wants her to wear a dress. Hummmph, If ya ask me girlfriend needs an attitude adjustment, get over it, and put on a skirt". All the while Hatshepsut's Father Thuthmose the 1st stands silently in the shadows leaning against a column in the balcony above pondering his daughters quandary. Thanks for Viewing Sorry bout my lack of comments lately but between slow connection speed an trying to learn more bout Bryce and Poser just cant comment as much as I would like. The scene is nicely arranged, but I have two complaints. The first is that the lighting is completely baffling. This is an outdoor scene at night, but it looks like it's as bright as day. Where is that light coming from? The contrast is hard for me to deal with. Giving specific light (cast by torches perhaps?) to the various details of the scene would help them to stand out more clearly. The father gets lost in the background otherwise. Also, the light comes from an angle that makes the scene as a whole and the figures in particular look very flat. If you have stronger light coming from the top or sides, you'll be able give the scene much more depth, which will create a much more interesting look. Sorry, if I'm a bit harsh, but a few small adjustments to the light in this scene would make it much more interesting and believable. Secondly, the shadows on the floor under the couch get rid of the pattern, which is a little distracting. I know it's a small thing, but if you switch your reflection thing onto that pattern too it'll be a little more believable. Otherwise the scene is very nice. Poses are believable, the scale is grand, but the people don't get lost in it. The texturing (except for what I mentioned) is superb.

Lots of things just could not do as I am still not that good with all the tools in Bryce. As for the lighting well I was going for a grand look and feel,{Sterotyping} like in those old motion pictures. Guess the word Im looking for is {extravaganza}in the floor anyway, as I was thinking highly polished so it would reflect and magnify the light from the unseen torches placed around the rooom. I would have placed more in the scene but did not want to cludder it up any more then it already is. There are a lot of props behind the chairs you cant see. In all honesty due to my lack of control over the tools in Bryce. The best I could do was give the skydome light a soft yellow hue hopeing for an impression of torch lights placed around the scene. Also did not have the DAZ animal skin rugs at the time I did this one or would have placed the couch on them. the father was not a major figure in this piece just wanted him in their to give effect for my story line. Thanks for your honesty its much appreciated :)

Your posing and prop placement is just outstanding! As for the lighting, if it was too dark you could not truly appreciate all the details and grandness of the scene. This is truly a spectacular scene Elliot and I'm thrilled to see such beauty. Bravo my friend!

Great story! Love the image that accompanies it! Her pose looks very natural! The cat adds a lot, as Egyptians worshiped cats, I imagine they would be running around free like that. Helped keep rats out of the granaries! 5++

This is a great scene and the lighting to me is entirely appropriate for a night scene or late evening scene...with a partially dark sky..and low light on the horizion....wonderfull detail props and posing as well..the extra lightiong under the upper floor and walls is alo a nice touch.. just very well done Great Work!
