Description

[best viewed full sized] (for easier viewing press F11 key) This shot was taken in the grounds of Plas Teg (Beautiful Place), a restored mansion house two weeks ago. Plas Teg is one of the most evocative and interesting country houses in North Wales. It has been lovingly restored over the past twenty years to its original Jacobean glory. We were hoping to be able to capture some ghostly images on our visit as Plas Teg is famous for its resident spirits, but unfortunately photography is not permitted inside the house. I have quite heavily postworked this pic in photoshop including converting to colourised mono, over dramaticising the background sky, and then subtle dodge and burn to emphasise details. Thanks for looking and any comments and critique are more than welcome!

This is a fantastic capture Carl. The postwork you have applied makes for a very dramatic effect creating a wonderfully haunting atmosphere and the blue toning was an excellent choice. It is a shame that photography was not allowed in the mansion but we did respect the decision of Cornelia, the current owner and not being able to shoot meant that we were able to truly appreciate the magnificence surrounding us and enjoy the tour and information provided. Your photographic eye has improved so much over the months and your postwork is superb and very tastefully mastered. Hugs Chrissy xox
