Description

...and what was it that they did? This is how our backyard looked this morning - a LOT of footprints in the snow!. I dont know what the animal is, but it must have spent quite a while in our yard, footprints all around. In addition to the foot prints there are also signs of something being dragged along, maybe it caught something, or maybe it's its tail? Who said this is a sleepy suburb? Just thought it will be fun to share the activities with you:)

Just because we humans cuddle by the warm fire and or sleep looking at snow, the animals continue with business as normal. In most areas, most wild diurnal animals have been hunted to extinction, just leaving loads of nocturnal sneaks doing what they do out of eye-sight of us human types. Cute pic. ^__^

A wonderful crisp capture and one's imagination can be let loose wondering what made the prints.

Wonderful capture. in Italy where we have our holly day house in the mountains, in the mornings we have always a lot footprints around the house. :) When the snow is to high, they are searching for some food in the near of houses. Wonderful crisp capture.

what i love about this piece is that you've captured so much of the sky and the ground together. going from top to bottom moves you from very vast distance to right at your feet. i guess that's true of most outdoor photographs, but the scale of the elements in the picture really emphasize that to me. the tracks of small animals, the trees, then the houses receding into the distance, then the clouds. but then, developments like that have a lot of emotional impact to me. they kind of creep me out, with their endless sameness and lack of nature. having grown up in what i term the vast suburban wasteland, i also know those plain beige boxes hide a multitude of complicated stories. so my personal feeling looking at this image is about the triumph of small, perseverant spirits in the face of a vast, somewhat inhospitable natural world and vast, barren man-made world.

I love it when it snows and love being a detective wondering which creatures have passed through the garden in the night. This is an excellent shot, but no idea what animal those prints belong to - hugs Jane xx
