A principal character from the Twilight Blades, a D&D Forgotten Realms campaign set in Aglarond. “Cosar pulled his cloak tight against the night air and nestled himself against the foot of a tree. The trio had settled in to camp for the night, gathered around their fire, but still they bickered. He had followed the mage and forester from Hilendos, but was beginning to wonder if it was worth it. “Wait a minute,” he whispered to himself, “where’s the forester?” He could see the mage and the half-elven beauty, but the young woodsman was gone. Then he felt the touch of cold steel at his throat. “Ah… There you are,” he said calmly, carefully turning his head to follow the blade. “It’s a chilled night,” Courynn’s voice was tinted with amusement; “you’d do better by our fire.” “How can I refuse such a gracious offer?” Cosar replied, gently pushing the sword’s blade away from his throat. “These woods literally teem with spies!” Rynard announced as Courynn lead Cosar into their camp. “You followed us from Hilendos,” Courynn accused. “I saw you there.” “It’s no crime!” Cosar countered, settling down by the fire. “You’re the one with the blade at my back!” Courynn looked down to the sword still bare in his hand, and, realizing he was right, sheathed it. “What do you want here?” Talice demanded. “I heard them talk of a dragon,” Cosar replied, unabashedly admiring her beauty, “and every one knows… where there’s a dragon… there’s a dragon’s horde!”” Left at the temple of Chauntea in the town of Hilendos, just beyond the fringe of the Yuirwood, as an infant, Cosar spent his youth in poverty, turning to life as a rogue to better his fortunes. Facing life, and death, with “tongue-in-cheek” humor, he is seldom serious about anything, but is surprisingly loyal to those few he calls friends. Originally seeing the Twilight Blades as a way to fame and fortune, Cosar has grown into a good hearted rogue, although he retains his appetite for thrills, and comely maids. Although he bares wood elven blood, he still finds life in the Yuirwood too rustic for his taste, preferring the comforts of “civilized” Aglarond. Unbeknownst to him, Cosar’s pendent is a minor artifact known as the dragon’s eye which possesses powerful magical properties he is completely unaware of.
