Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

A very nice view of an interesting structure!

An even more imposing look at this bridge, Marilyn. I love the way the light catches all of the 'ages-old' weathering of its concrete surface. Talk about salmon, I love it baked with a bit of brown sugar and marinated ahead of time with balsamic vinegar. The sugar carmelizes and so--- good!

Excellent capture!! Great light on the bridge!!

It certainly looks very regal Marilyn, thank you my dear lady for sharing it with us and of course for the double dedication. I am honoured. I see here on the left what looks like the cable for the lights up above, the first few feet heavily armoured to prevent vandalism. What looks like lines, almost brick like, would most likely be from the re-enforcing and shuttering to keep the concrete contained until it cured. Thanks very much for the information as to its build date and span. Just one question? Who ate all the Salmon? lol. Excellent capture and narrative, and just has to be a fav. Bravo!!!!!

Terrific POV, DOF and perspective depicted, along with fine clarity, lighting and textural effects in this great capture, Marilyn. Not exactly the Bridge on the River Kwai, but much more impressive.

Marilyn, this is Fantastic!!!!! I mean, your other stuff rocks, but this rocks, pops and does a little shimmy too! The colors and varied textures are very rich and I love the light you've captured. Yeah, it still looks a bit like a Czech bridge too, right down to the wonderful hints of weathering and corrosion. This is a fantastic capture, but its the rust stains from exposed rebar or something that I'm particularly drawn to. And this is definitely one of my favorites.
