Description

I went to Lake Martin to shoot in the rain. I know most people have the cameras away and sitting in front of the computor and is on RR. I wanted to see what the rain do to landscapes. I know how it looks for I been around a long time but went you start to note things around you with a camera it like a new world open up to you and you see things diff; more fuller you see things. I know the image looks gairny it may be I not sure for it was raining and the rain may have made it look grainy. I got to check it out more and I just saw on my camera a setting for images I got to look at more too. I lost the book that came with the camera so I spent $24 to get another book. It helped out a lot and I not finish reading it . So much imformation lol. oh when it rains here it a heavy rain. I know I been in diff parts of the country and when it rain light to me they think it a heavy rain. thanks for looking and comments and votes too

This is exactly the shot I've been trying to get this last week, but just can't with the teeny zoom I have on my camera. BUT, I just bought a new one on EBay and cannot wait to get it, then maybe I'll finally get the foto I want!! Great one, Jock!!

Jocko, you shouldn't have bought a new book for the camera go to the manufacturers web site and you can usually down load one in adobe format. Thats what I've done, I have one on the PC and one in the car glove box. I used to use a clear plastic bag with a hole cut into it for rain shots, just stick the lens through the hole put an elastic band around to get a good seal and hey presto you have a water proof housing. I have a daylight filter on the lens so any marks get on that. I think this has turned out great, although grainy in the distance you have a decent foreground where the birds are. Excellent work my friend. Bravo!!!!!

Its a great capture, these birds are loving the rain. Something I haven't tried shooting in rain. I worry my camera will stop working or something lol.

I wonder if a hunter scared the Herron's or was it a Gator ? JeffG7BRJ has some good suggestions, remember keep that camera dry as it has an electric curcuit board inside and if that goes, your up for a new camera ! ~Cheers~

I'm shooting in the rain, just shooting in the rain, what a wonderful feeling, I'm happy again.... (from the movie, Singing in the Rain). Nice capture of the birds, taken under somewhat difficult conditions, Jock, although it appears you may have to shoot either at a faster shutter speed or hold the camera steadier to catch these guys in flight.

I enjoy the feeling of motion in this and it gives the feeling of heavy, damp air.
