A recurring character from the Twilight Blades, a D&D Forgotten Realms campaign set in Aglarond drawn from the "Unapproachable East" by Richard Baker, Matt Forbeck & Sean K Reynolds. “By the time they reached the merchant’s square at the base of the great palace tree, it seemed like all of Relkath’s Foot was either following with them or already there waiting. Courynn halted the cart, and the exhausted prisoners nearly collapsed. “What have we here?” Dervila stepped forward. “Slavers,” Courynn answered, “and the beast that served them… a young green dragon!” Dervila started toward the cart, but stopped before one of the slavers. “Saevel!?!” she, reached forward to lift his chin, shocked to find the half-elf alive, and among slavers! “You were one of our order… You swore to protect the Yuirwood and all who dwell in it!” “Just kill me and get it over with,” he spat at her. “I’ve had enough of your holier then thou speeches!” Dervila’s hand shot to her sword’s hilt, but a voice from above stayed it. “No!” Upon the stairs that spiraled around the great palace tree, Princess Blendelsyn Olossyne, lady and authority for all the Yuirwood paused. “There will be justice… but so swift a death is too kind for such a traitor.”” Born in Relkath’s Foot, and schooled by its legendary “foresters”, Dervila has been leader of the masters of the Yuirwood for many years. Unwaveringly loyal to Princess Blindelyn and through her to the Simbul, she was once a simple ranger of Rilifane Rallathil, but learned to turn the cunning and instinct that made her a deadly foe in the forest to the wildness of politics... though she often longs for those simpler days. Of late, Dervila has faced challenges to her position from those who would see the humans driven from Aglarond and the forest kingdom restored. Dervila is well aware of the growing rift between the coastal cities and woodlands of Aglarond, and knows the conflict is not likely to be settled without bloodshed. However, despite preparing the masters of the Yuirwood to lead the defense of the ancient forest, she will not allow them to become a weapon against the Simbul. Dervila has little tolerance for adventures, seeing most as mercenaries seeking nothing but fortune and glory, but she has come to accept the Twilight Blades as local heroes, and allies in the defense of the Yuirwood.
