Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I should have known you'd be a flamigo collector too. I have two in my garden and they really make my smile whenever I see them. I'd love to have more but they aren't too easy to find and they have gotten expensive when you do. I love this one you have because it seems to be more art than mine are.

Some humor here, Marilyn.....at least they're not the plastic ones that seem to be so common here in the East..LOL I really like yours. And, yes, looks like you DID get some snow, there.

OOOH, frosted flamingos! Great shot! I love the vibrant colors here and the way that the whole thing is presented! I love the sense of color here, and the whole dream-like quality that you've endowed this piece with. In short, it's a fantastic post. I especially like the pink of the flamingos themselves, in contrast with the blue glass orb in it's rope cradle-thingie! Great work! Wonderful, vibrant color...and something that would be right at home in a bar over here in Prague...it has those colors and a Polynesian motif going, but alas, they've removed the dry ice volcano from the back table...it had a red light down in the crater and gave the whole place a wonderfully retro sort of 60s Hawaii feel, but volcano or no...this image reminds me of that place (and the beer there is cheap too...only 19 crowns, FAR less than $1.)

Oh what great colours you have here. The white snow makes a very good contrast :-)

Although the art is kind of bizarre in its concept, especially with that blue orb, it makes for a wonderful, vibrant and vivid photo, Marilyn! Has all the appearance of an abstract piece of art.
