Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I can relate to this, yeah, I sure can! Sometimes, I wake up in the morning and think, 'What do I need to get up for?' You know, the answer is always the same, 'Nothing!' Sometimes I wake up in the morning and think, 'What purpose do I have in life?' You know, the answer is always the same, 'None!' I used to wake up in the morning and think, 'What a glorious day it is!' You know, 'It usually was!' I used to wake up in the morning and think, 'Another day, another dollar!' You know, 'I went out and earned it!' I can't go out and earn anymore, And you know what, 'That really pisses me off!' I like your words a whole lot more than mine Marilyn. Keep em coming gal! Bravo!!!!!

There was a time when it would rain and be utterly cold, and I'd just pop on the soundtrack to Blade Runner and listen to the utterly urban, melancholy music. Usually THAT got me to writing. This is a gorgeous work, the image is evocative of so many things and I love the fact that it matches what you wrote, but not exactly. It's as if you've captured a note of ambivalence...something that the rain would bring. I love the range of emotions evoked by this piece of work, and the last line, breaking the pattern of stanzas adds wonderful punctuation to what you've written. Great stuff, Marilyn. I love it.

I don't know...the precipitation didn't seem to bother Gene Kelly in the movie, Singing In The Rain. I'm singin in the rain, just singin in the rain, what a wonderful feeling, I'm happy again.... Then again, we have the situation with Noah and the Ark. Again, Marilyn, an excellent image with prose to match!
