Description

The Washing Machine Repairman It was rattling and rocking Roaring and reeling This washing machine Of mine It screamed in pain And tried to run Out the door It was so sick So I made the call So distraught So sad So helpless I thought Oh no Is this it Is this the end I was almost in mourning Almost in tears Because of my Washing machine They were busy And no one could come For 4 days And I had to wait Just letting it sit And rest And maybe Feel better So today HE CAME That wonderful man The washing machine repairman Not only that He knows me He's a friend of my son's And it was good He went out And tenderly looked At this ailing machine And he gave a sad little smile At first I watched But then I had To leave the room It was too painful Oh, but I had To back and Tell him One more thing And he said Yeah it can be pricey My heart stopped My purse stings snapped And I left The room yet again I tried not To think about What this might mean Was this the end Was this GONNA COST ME MONEY???????? Then he was done And was was smiling And I said What do I owe you And he said NOTHING I didn't Really do anything And he left Sometimes angels Come in the funniest ways This one came in the form Of a washing machine repairman And he has wings!!!!!!! 2/5/08

Must have been the Maytag repairman...Oh, I forgot, didn't he die? Well, Marilyn, you made out better than I did a year ago. I had to but a new one...heehee!

WOW, this is a great piece...I see these as wonderful slice-of-life vignettes...they're very visual, very emotional, and this one is no exception. It's good stuff, a glimpse into a day in the life of a fellow Renderosity artist! Great stuff and it has a wonderful sense of intimacy as well. The image that accompanies it is a great one as well; I love the crisp and bold color as well as the simplicity of the subject matter...though it does kind of scare me that in some obscure and ill-defined way, a green-tinted washing machine COULD conceivably become a Nemaean gene-brewing vat or something like that. Oh, sometimes I don wonder at the direction my thoughts wander off into.

This is sooo Déjà vu! Just last week ours went on the blink, normally I would have dragged it's sorry ass out and give it a good going over, not capable any more so we called my step son. He pulled it out and we both checked it over and found the balance wieghts had come loose, tighten up of two bolts and hey presto one quite machine again. Cost? A beef and onion sandwich and a thank you. Excellent prose once again Marilyn. Bravo!!!!! Thanks for your comments on 'my thoughts' thread.

Hey, you really lucked out on this one, Marilyn! Then again, next time your machine conks out, perhaps for the last time, you could always go out to your fave Eel River and wash your clothes on a rock... Fine ephemeral neon effect displayed in the above image. In fact, it appears to be disappearing into another dimension.
