Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I might make it about fifty yards at a push Marilyn, but I would love to join you for a stroll along the bank. I could get a skate board and use my crutches like they do poles for skiing. It might take a couple of days to complete the journey, but I'm sure we would have some fun on the way.roflmao. I used to have a pushbike up till about 22 years back I used to ride it regular, it was only after I had my right kneecap removed I couldn't pedal it anymore, my right knee would not bend enough to complete the cycle of the pedal. You must be fit, doing all that walking and cycling, I will dream about it tonight, cause thats the closest I'll get. Excellent capture and thanks for showing us round. Bravo!!!!!

Oh, I wish I could, Marilyn. What a view...and that mountain range in the distance is great.

I could do four miles if we took a break in the middle! It's the 600 miles to get there that's the kicker! LOL! Great shot - it's nice to see where you walk!

Oh cool... a very nice landscape!

Oh, I'd love to! Sadly, the Atlantic Ocean lies between us, making this a rather long trip.. :) Looks like a very nice place to walk.

I am there! At least in spirit. Terrific vista displayed in this capture, Marilyn. Excellent area to become one with nature, stopping every so often to snap photos of things of interest. BTW, it would be nice if you visited my gallery. You have been conspicuous by your absence.

This is a gorgeous image...restful, peaceful, and evocative of so many complex and rich moods. I would love to walk around that area...with my notebook and my camera, taking pictures and writing down impressions, and probably turning over stones and whatnot, looking for woodlice and other interesting creatures. Funny thing about woodlice though, they're neither wooden, nor are they lice...but oh well. They're funny critters and they're sure to live around there. I think they're universal. But anyway, I love the emotional undercurrent of this picture, the sense of peace that you've captured here...and I won't even go into how much it resembles the outskirts of the city of Bes.... :-)

I thought you rode across all those rocks, I didn't know you had an actual path. Another nice capture of a red Joshua tree.... lol... :) Todd
