Description

Hello all! Another one of my photo captures this week that I did my smudgy hand paintings ( -with the mousein paintshop) on to this to draw out the background in a bold colored impressionistic style... I sure had fun watching this hungry little bear- i adore these guys so much!~ ( used to collect the little hand clip kuala's when I was a kid in the 70's remember those? lol they were all over my bed posts! ) I found it interesting that the koala gets its name from an ancient Aboriginal word meaning "no drink" because it receives over 90% of its hydration from the Eucalyptus leaves (also known as gum leaves) it eats, and only drinks when ill or times when there is not enough moisture in the leaves, ie during droughts etc. The koala is one of the only mammals, which can survive on a diet of eucalyptus leaves. I also got a capture of a baby koala on mama's back but since I already did a gorilla on back last time I opted for the composition of this one. Thanks for all your time and comments ! Love to you all! ((( BIG hugs ))) ~! Kimmers ! ♥ :O)

What a cutie! It looks like it is posing for you, Kimarie. At least, it's keeping and eye on you. ;) Beautiful photography, and your smudging really brings out the beauty of this mammal.

When's a bear not a bear? When it's a koala bear....I'm sure you already know that a koala is not really a bear, but who the heck cares..they're so cute and Kimmers,,,,you did a great job capturing him and doing that famous Kimmarie smudgy technique with a mouse. What kind of cheese do you feed the mouse? Mine likes cheesewizzzzzzz. It gets a little messy at times, but my mouse seems to smudge better under the influence of the wizzzz. I think you should show us the mama and baby koalas. I bet they're just as cute as the gorillas.

It is a beautiful animal, and your capture is excellent. Very fine post work as well. Its hair is almost wool, or so it looks from your picture. Todd
