Description

"I remember the dedication on the day my first command let slip of our dock, and we hurtled outward to the stars. The Hard 8, a new ship in a long line of tough little ships. Fast, sleek, and very well armed. I was proud to be her first captain, proud that she was my first command. I had started out as a crewman, didn't go to business school like the other captains did. I learned our business from the ground up. I started as a Chip runner, humping ammo up to the railguns... Eventually I became a Dealer myself, handling the big guns. Soon, I became a Pit Boss, I was in charge of a section of Dealers. Normally, someone like me doesn't go much beyond that but this wasn't normal. I was the Pit Boss aboard an old Cargo Ship, the Fd-X.We were laying off the end of Root 66, when we were set on by a Strip of Attack Hotels. The Fd-X wasn't that well armed but we gave as best we could. Within minutes the main bridge was whacked and the only functioning parts of the ship were the guns. I ordered the guns to keep dealing even as we took heavey action. Eventually, we drove off the Attack Hotels. For my decision to keep firing, I was given a battlefield commision. I was transferred up through the years, learning all aspects of command, to the point we are at today, the commisioning of my own ship, the first of her line. Reen-Oh won't know what hit them!" As the Hard-8 Captain (Sam-8 Rothenstien) climbed into his lavish bunk, a sizzle sounded and Ka-boom!!. A fiery explosion ensued.... Lets step back a second.... This story begins with a woman who worked her way up through the ranks, as well as Sam-8. Her name was Ginger Macanaw. Being blessed with a beautiful figure and a strikingly attractive face one could guess she could go far in this Man's Casino. Signed up as a lowly server (other worlds knew the job as waitress) She dilligently kept the fluids a-pouring and her backside a-wiggling during those long hard battles. Greatly appreciated by the crew, she caught the eye of the Captain of the Hard-8 class battleship. They quickly became an item and married. The Rothensteins. However, this woman wouldn't be satisfied with just a mere Captain. It seemed she wooed every man aboard every cruiser, much to the detriment of Sam-8. But he still was in love with her and was detrmined to wrangle her back. She would party heavily and do drugs profusely. She ignored the children she and the Captain bore together. Ginger returned to a pimp of a cook she knew from years back who was still serving aboard an old barge named, "Nev-ado Landing" Though Sam-8 had the wayward gentleman beaten severely, she would not capitulate, in fact it drove her further away. He finally exposed her as the tramp she was and as the tramp he feared she was, just as his life fell apart. It seemed she was sleeping with the Admiral's body guard. A nasty, violent little Dealer named "Nikk-E". Who finally tried to have the Captain killed by setting explosives inside his bunk. Unknown to Nikk-E, that model bunk had an extra sheet of iron beneath it which saved Sam-8's life. Failing to extinguish the Captain, Nikk-E found himself in the ire of the Admiral, who had him lured to an abandoned lounge and beat to death with pool cues. Sad to say, Ginger also died from a drug overdose. Something called a "Hot Nova" which Sam-8 discovered by having her autopsied on a space station called "Elk-0" Tsk tsk... sad, but based on a true story.

Lucky the Captain/Brad Pitt-boss didn't start out in a Star-Bug, otherwise the would be mini UNICEF scowls all over the Galaxy called Jolly Angie Lina's ! And hot waffles for everybody ! ~Cheers~
