How are the mighty fallen!
This old Douglas fir was of only moderate size, and has obviously been down for some years, as it appears to be having its second fitting (at least) for its green fur coat. Underneath these pretty ferns is a well established layer of moss.
Sharing this with you all has been fun, and I appreciate all your responses.........especially those that surprised me the most, like any of these pics becoming someone's fav.....and Realmofillusion's being able to hear the music! (I'm so sorry to tell her that because she could hear the music all that way away, City Hall have now put a restraining order on the Saturday Night dances) However, on a summer evening, under a full moon, the frolics here will continue, especially as the little people have so many great hiding places amongst the ferns, the over-dressed dowager stumps, lichens and mosses.

I can not see this being your last post of trees in fur coats. I think this is only your first series. There are to many pictures where you took those to pass them up LOL. I love them though.
