Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Ooh, this is quite moving. I love it. The image that accompanies it is nicely evocative as well. It's kinda funny how that "Missing what was" sort of a vibe is such a big thing in my life. I was just talking to my friend Stas about it...and in your words here, you captured it...in a different context but the essence is the same. Great stuff!

It is strange, but you can have someone in your life and still feel the same thing. Fantastic poem! The honesty is what makes this beautiful and poignant, and easy to relate to.

Yep, Marilyn, life does go on, and sometimes, better alone than with someone who makes you feel alone.

I think its about time you started sorting these poems out and formalating a book, This one really is something a million or more can relate to. Millions have gone before you down that same road, and just as I hope you do, millions have come out the other side still smiling and singing. A very moving and thought provoking poem Marilyn, your very best so far I think. The image is great but pales in comparison to the prose! I stand and applaud you! Superb! Bravo!!!!!5+++++

Beautiful, Marilyn, and very moving. I love your bold honesty and the way you come right to the point without any fancy whistles and bells. You write very powerful stuff, and your words linger on, long after i read them.

Deep and heartfelt prose, indeed, Marilyn, but permit me to add a comment I once read in a book on the subject....God must have a sense of humor, because he invented love. And, hey, I really like the image above with those great cloud formations!
