Description

Can you understand why what should be a 5 hour drive to San Francisco sometimes takes me a whole lot longer? It's because THIS is what I see as I drive, this is my world, my back yard. That's the Eel River way down there thru the trees, the same river I walk along so often. This is about 50 miles south, sometimes I just can't drive, I HAVE to stop and just take it all in. That straight line across the top of the foto is NOT a power or telephone line. It's an old snag (a dead tree) across the tops of the other trees!!

It would take my a couple of weeks to drive through here I think. The number of photo ops must run into thousands. Yes I can understand why it takes you longer than it should, nobody in their right mind would rush through here. Especially if they had a camera with them. Excellent stop off, wonderful scenery, thanks for capturing some for us. Bravo!!!!!

Yup, I have this sort of view stuck in my head too. Its a nice 4 1/2 hour trip for me to get up to see my son but on the return trip it takes nearly 6 1/2 because I insist on taking the "scenic route" through Paskenta and on through The Middle of Nowhere until we get to Williams... Great shot.

Fantastic image, I love the sense of life and color you've given this. Your world is a beautiful place, one that calls out for multiple visits. It's a magical place, by the looks of it, and as I've learned from the Vltava...rivers are such peaceful places full of surprises if you know how to look for them. They stir the heart and soul, and the Eel River, bordered by so many gorgeous trees must be a magical place, indeed. I love this photo.
