Description

(EDITED POST, updated version is now here) This is a cover for one of Jana Oliver's Time Rovers series--and if you read the comments below you can see how *wonderful* Rosity folks are. As of noon Friday, Feb 29th, there was enough time to incorporate most of the suggestions--from editing the fraxes slightly (I was able to do it on layers so the designer can still pull out what she needs for the logo), and the addition of more smoke really make the figure pop. I also fixed up the hand somewhat to have more detail, and tweaked the light a bit, though not much. It's now off to the designer and a huge THANK YOU for all your comments! This is version two (actually it is version 10 for changes;-)--I might finish up version one and post it here, it has a different UK monument on fire but as the story went through revisions the setting changed too. If you haven't read any of the series yet, you should pick up Sojourn by Jana Oliver, the first in the series--it's on Amazon, trade paperback, Dragon Moon/Hades press. Now I just have 3 pics more to do... by next Friday;-0

Will I am blown away! This is fantastic Lynn. What talent you have for painting. Everything is wonderfully done and the reflection on the ground is perfect. How do you do that! I do agree with others that the fx around his hand and watch should be a tad softer, other than that everything is perfect! Excellent work

OMG Lynn, this is wonderful, I so love the painterly look of this one, not to speak from composition, expression and dynamic, this piece has it all – first class work here. Now I really need some time to study every bit of this piece to learn from it, thanks for posting this one my dear friend!

This is so marvellous!!! The only things that MIGHT need a little fix are already mentioned. On the one side I agree that the light FX playing with the color of the clothes may look neat and the things said about the interaction of the light whirl and the clock are correct... on the other side I thought "Hey, it's artificial/magic light, it is kind of logical that it behaves different from the fire in the background". Superb work on pose, this looks so dynamic!

A Time-Travler? Good job making this image! The color brings the fire to life, so to speak. Nice work on the character design, too!

I deleted my original comment and went to Amazon to look up Jana Oliver. I remembered your work for Virtual Evil. Lynn, you have definitely made your mark in this world, in more ways than one. BRAVA!!!!

I like very much this kind of painting! Excellent! Some people have emitted critics, but this is a very serious work which deserves great honors! I want more of that style at RR! All my congrats!… But please avoid the copyright in the center of the image which ruins the pleasure to enjoy it and does not protect seriously your work (easy to wipe with the Clone Stamp Tool); contact my friend e-brink who seems to have found a serious solution against piracy.
