Description

This is another view of Fernbridge*, which spans the Eel River near Fortuna, California. I posted a couple of other fotos of this bridge a couple of months ago, just happened to see this one tonight as I was looking for something to post. It gives a very different perspective, but standing right under there was pretty strange; I could feel the vibrations of the cars and trucks as they drove right over my head!! *click here

Wonderful Marilyn, wonderful. I have a bit of a thing about bridges(long story) and this is a great one. Love the way the surface water off the bridge comes down and leaves these marks. Now I would like to be under here when it is raining, to capture the water coming down the drains. Also to listen to the sounds of the vehicles passing overhead, the sound the tyres make when driving through the rain water, I have mentioned before that I am crazy haven't I? Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!

Absolutely beautiful! I love this image for so many reasons. The colors here are amazing and sharp. The composition is beautifully centered, drawing my attention to the arch of the bridge itself, descending right down the middle of the image! There are all sorts of interesting details here, and a whole story behind the graffiti written on the wall. That is incredibly intriguing to me. Great stuff here, Marilyn and most definitely one of my favorites.

An unusual and engaging point of view certainly ... it emphasises the monumental quality of the construction. Thanks for sharing. Mike

it's such a 'geometric' composition, perfectly complemented with the graffiti heart!

Since the bridge collapsed in San Francisco during the earthquake I avoid being on or under bridges which really is a bother because it takes me out of my way when trying to get somewhere. Even sitting under an overpass waiting for a light change will wear on my nerves. :-)

Great POV and perspective in this fine capture. I like the water stains adorning the concrete, or whatever the structure is composed of. Tis a bridge over untroubled waters, indeed.

The graffiti gets painted on during the summer when the river level is so low, you can wade out to them!! Makes it easy for those artists!!
