Description

I took a lot of straight shots of this vase, and the pattern in the glass showed up okay, but shooting this with the flash brought out the details like crazy! Normally, I would have never done this. There was plenty of daylight, and the other shots turned out just fine. But a photographer friend of mine was standing there watching me shoot, and said, "aren't you going to take any with the flash?" * hahaha! * So I did. He hasn't seen this yet, and I bet he'll be as surprised as I was to see how it turned out! Aside from cropping and taking out the bottom edge of a flower, I did no postwork. This is just how it came out of the camera. I still prefer the way natural sunlight interacts with glass, but this was an experiment that turned out to be far more interesting than I imagined it would, so I thought I'd share it with you!
