Description

The sun coming out on a typical English railway scene of the Great Western Railway Era after a heavy storm. (Circa 1930's). "Faster than fairies, faster than witches, Bridges and houses, hedges and ditches. And charging along like troops in a battle, All through the meadows, the horses and cattle. All of the sights of the hill and the plain, Fly as thick as driving rain. And ever again, in the wink of an eye, Painted stations whistle by... And here is a mill and there is a river, Each a glimpse and gone for ever." by Robert Louis Stevenson Models from Cornucopia. I fashioned the head code lamps from photographs and set them according to the GWR appendix to the rule book 1936. These lamps mean: 'Freight, Mineral or Ballast train or train of empties carrying through load to destination'. dmrc_enabled_wbtn.gif

I don't go rihjt back as far as the 1930's but steam was still about in my time I was born in 1948. I loved steam then as I still do now. Excellent image, the poem was an inspiration, and the information from the GWR appendix to the rule book 1936, was very interesting. Superb work and homework. Bravo!!!!!

Your attention to detail is what makes your work so fabulous. I love this scene, love how you've remembered to add the weeds between the railroad ties, the puddles, and just overall awesome

Amazing render by E-brink and Poem by R.L Stevenson. It is almost impossible to tell if it is a PW'ed photo or a render. But when posted in VUE.. it is a render. Perfect artwork. The butterflies is a nice touch. You passionate work with the details is admireable. It is almost like being there.
