Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I takes chances, too, Marilyn. Some turn out well and others...well, I won't go there. But, I would rather have taken the chance when I did, than to regret not taking it later on. I love this pic...looks like a watercolor, now.

I can't wait for the sequel to this one Marilyn, sounds like you have taken a gamble on something, I hope you hit paydirt, you deserve it. Very profound words I think. Bravo!!!!!

As friends of mine often say (sometimes jokingly and sometimes not) You Go Girl!!! Choices are huge issues in life and sometimes the smallest ones can lead to the biggest (or strangest rewards)...you can find yourself in so many different and diverse places, including Prague's Karlovy Most at 3 in the morning listening to a drunk Blues Singer covering Billie Holiday songs in Czech...while her barefooted drummer looks intriguingly stoned...well...maybe the choices you've made won't lead to THAT particular spot, but the point is that you've put your finger right on that nerve and it's a great and gratifying feeling to read your words! Fantastic image as well! As always, your writing touches on so much and provides tantalizing glimpses into an exciting life! Great work!

I like the daily ventures you so splendidly portray, vis-a-vis your inner feelings, Marilyn. And, I sincerely hope that when you got the inspiration to fly, you had something down below to cushion your fall. Anyway, just getting out of bed in the morning, going for a brisk walk and taking photographs while trespassing on private property is a big enough chance for me. Oh, also driving on the freeway, that's an adventure.

Everyone takes chances. Some benefit them and some benefit others but that's all that you can say...its all about the chances you take. I like your image.

Taking chances, opportunities, to be brave in the face of the unknown, that's the stuff real people are made of. Wonderful reading!
