Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

... and I'm here giving you a 'sitting ovation' for taking me there. I do so love the sea - your words made me ache for it!

Well I live about 55 miles from the nearest beach, but I've just got back from there thanks to you. I agree with Mick, you are getting stronger and starting to transpose(not sure if this is the word I want) the reader to the origin of the peom's source, ie the beach in this case. Excellent work and a great image. Bravo!!!!!

Beautiful thoughts and words, again Marilyn. And the capture fits, perfectly.

Well, Marilyn, you've become quite a writer, reflecting your inner most thoughts and feelings upon the Internet for all to read and absorb. Incidentally, although mesmerized by the size and action of the ocean waves against the surf, murmuring in your ear, you should see it when it really gets its dander up, and becomes a tsunami, or even during a raging storm. That's when the gentle speaking becomes an ear-splitting roar.

What a nice and unexpected end to your poem. Living by the beach I can relate to what you felt, As for me, I always remember, that's were we came from in the first place. It was our first home...

Powerful and touching...I love this piece, and it means all the more to me since I'm currently in a landlocked country! NO beaches here...not even piddly little freshwater ones the size of a kiddie pool! Great mood here too, and I love the image that goes with it.
