Description

This is about my third serious Carrara render. Learning stuff slowly. Made the theorbo and hat in Hexagon, the rest is Daz. The steps texture map got badly pixelated closeup, so I improvised with Photoshop tricks.

I really love this one. Super work. The tree is key! Just thinking, more trees might be cool, casting shadows and HDRI. Fine as is tho'.

Nice modeling! I'm jealous - modeling eludes me. You also nailed the lighting quite nicely. Overall, a really nice image with great posing and PoV.

The textures world still has a few things to learn about big. Leaving maps behind was a good step. I think this shows what has happened with the DAZ takeover in a positive way. I read an interview with John Carmack yesterday about raytracing and tesselation with displacement maps. The need to specialize and the need to create general purpose computing could not be more contrasted. Seeing figures and trees in Carrara with masonry is genuinely progress. The song sounds the same.
