Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

The thing about love is it doesn't need just a single pink-tinged, lace-frilly day to be recognized, and as usual, what you wrote captures that perfectly. I love the directness of this piece, and the ending of it echoes the things that I'm getting all geared up to do just as soon as I can...there's a body, soul, mind, and all sorts of other stuff that about to be given, of course I'm gonna shave and make myself all gussied up when the time comes--and hopefully it's soon--and with all of that in mind, I have to say that this wonderful bit of free verse has taken on a particularly poignant meaning for me...though I DO also have to admit that the direction my love is likely to take is probably a bit more...um...well...NC-17 to say the least!

Love and Hallmark actually have very little to do with each other! I'll take the real thing over the greeting card holiday version any day. Nicely put!

love is something which goes far beyond the cards, sentiments, candy and flowers. All of that eventually fades away. What lingers on, is in the heart...thru the good and the bad. Thanks for sharing this sentiment.

A portrait gallery of the many faces of love, exquisitely drawn. Love it! Mike

What a loverly paean to one of your favorite subjects, of which so many articles, poems and songs have been written! Whenever I see or hear the word, love, it reminds me of the old adage: God must have a sense of humor, because he invented love. Lovely soft effect of the yellow and amber colors in the image above, Marilyn!

Great work! If we all try to spread love to all that surrounds us: people, animals, plants, then John's words still make sense after all those decades : All you need is love! I will believe in that 'till the day i die!

Yes, quite the way I feel about Valentines day too. Love is too a precious thing to be "comercialised". You are a wondrous poet. :)

A wonderful tribute to the other 364 days when love is quiet, but sincere strong and supportive. Showing it is no less important.
