Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

WOW! A bit of overkill for junk! Must be a front! I love this image though, the vivid colors just pop right out, and the contrasts are intriguing. Interesting placement of the razor-wire...who knows, maybe that unseen guard dog is the reason for it...not necessarily to keep trespassers out but to keep the dog IN? Who knows? At any rate, I love this image. The dominant reds really make the whole thing pop.

Excellent colors and work.

Brilliant pic!! You've made junk look very attractive!

Well like they say sometimes....one mans junk, is another mans treasure. fantastic capture of this well protected place....and nooooooo!! do not attempt to scale that fence! I would assume would take more than a box of band-aids lol ;)

I like the colour saturation on this Marilyn, we have similar places to this in the UK, not quite as colourful though. The colours really pop out at you, and I just love that Blue. Excellent capture, great postwork. Bravo!!!!!

love the vivid colors, i agree about the "drama" of it all!!!

Excellent idea... a very graphic and original shot Marilyn!

Some people are very protective of their "stuff." Apparently this guy is one of those. Great view and of course the colors are fun.

Perhaps it's dangerous junk. This makes an interesting image.

Looks like they are trying to keep the sentenced, prisoners called junk from escaping. Any guard towers? I thought where I live here in the East, one could only find places like this....hell, my neighbor has a few sitting on his property, but no barbed wire...who'd want 'em! Or him, for that matter! LOL

Seriously, there is a growing shortage of some metals ... there has been a sharp increase in the theft of lead from church roofs, for example - and the price of copper has also risen. So it is not so much 'junk' after all! Great picture! Mike

Excellent effect with the fence at the front. Must be expensive metal hee hee. Tony :-)

Though ominous in its portent, this is what I call literal CUTTING-edge technology! Superlative POV employed and wonderful clarity, detail, colors, repetitive geometry and perspective in this capture, Marilyn! Can't help lovin' this shot! And, what is junk to one man is treasure to another.
jocko500
like this fence . cool shot of it too

Well whatever, it has made for a great abstract image Marilyn, very well done and only you could make such a fabulous artwork out of a pile of old junk, thanks for sharing - hugs Jane xx

Yikes! Okay, I'll just stay out here, then, shall I? I'm perfectly happy on this side of that fence! Great capture and story!

My sister was looking at properties in South Carolina. We looked at many who's price had been reduced sharply due to having had all of their pipes ( copper) stolen. Although I think it's probably to keep children from getting hurt and having their parents sue him.
