Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

The tall trees on the left-hand side of the photo are reminiscent of the long, broad lanes going to the large old homes in the South. Great capture, Marilyn.

I love those big old eucalyptus trees - good capture

Why is there a skeleton on his drive? That what it looks like, something out of Jason and the Argonoughts. lol. Excellent capture Marilyn, I take it you do like the camera then? Bravo!!!!!

Very interesting work.

Totally terrific DOF, colors and lighting effects in this shot! Our Marilyn time warped herself back to the old South right before the Civil War in order to show us this serene home and grounds on the elegant plantation. Needless to say, Matthew Brady would be overcome with shock and envy if he ever saw her new camera.

Yup, my first thought was of an old plantation house. The treeline helps with that visual but the yellowish cast overall also lends to that feeling. Wonderful capture, Marilyn.

The trees lead you to the house. Great photo!

You are completely spot on with the plantation reference; this house looks exactly like one! The light and colors are more soothing than an actual antebellum plantation would actually be, which is good, and I love the way in which you've captured the road leading TO the house itself! It's a gorgeous photo and proof that you're having fun with your new camera. The texture of the trees is fantastic and I love the way they dominate one side of the image but not the other. I love asymmetry, especially when it establishes a new and exciting sort of balance to the picture. As always, this piece of work rocks!

Very nice capture, it is reminding me of New Orleans. I too am curious about the statue.

A statue of a skeleton? Obviously, they forgot to take their Halloween decorations down! lol!! Excellent capture, though, and the lighting adds to the image. :o)
