Description

I just got back from a fantastic trip to Death Valley, California. Every year I meet up with friends there, to camp and explore. This year gas prices kept us from going to far away from camp, so by talking to one of the Park employees, we found out about some "secret spots" that are not seen by all visitors. This car was found behind a hill of one of the well know attractions. An old "dumping" spot, full of tin cans, rusty metals, and broken colored glass, it was a photographers dream! I love finding old stuff and getting creative! This shot was a must in B&W! It did look pretty good in color, but the sky and hills in background were a little washed out, so I was able to bring out the detail more with B&W. Hope you like! I will have more pics of my trip to post as I find time (which will be more and more since the snow is melting fast and I won't be able to ski soon :(

Looks like it's been there a long, long, LONG time! B&W was the perfect choice, did you consider toning it too? Very desolate, the mountains are the perfect backdrop. Glad you had a good trip. :o)

They don't call it Death Valley for nothing. :-) This really is great and I had no idea this area existed in Death Valley. Beautiful postwork and presentation.

I think this is beyond "needs a little work." Such a stark and hostile environment, and the B&W adds to the effect.

Wow I would have to say that cars been abandoned quite a while. The B&W looks fantastic for this composition.

Like this capture and it reminds me of an abandoned Cadillac on the Road to the Sea here in Hawaii. Excellent. Aloha

I like the B&W, but agree with TwoPynts that toning would be interesting... sepia would age it even further. Oodles of nice texture in that place!
