Description
morning all :o)
another shot from inside the station at darlington only taken wide to try and capture this fine building .the engine is a class 47 working as a frieght puller .not many of these left now ,mostly class 66 and 67 for heavy haul .the station is deserted because it was bitterly cold and they were all inside the waiting room in the warmth
i`ve been trying to catch up with you all and i think i`m getting there :o)..
have a great day and thanks for looking and your continued support

Great longer shot Mick and this one suits the colour. A fine example of railway architecture. I had an Uncle who was a Station Master at Carnforth Station.

Rail was never the same after Beecham Mick, but I think it is trying to make a comeback, a couple of stations near me have had or are getting a bit of a face lift. I think its because we are getting ready for the metro link, they are bringing the trams back and into the center of Rochdale. Mind you they have been talking about it for ten or twelve years so far. I saw two different sets of plans when I was working in the Highways Department. Excellent capture of this wonderful Station, the roof canopy is fantastic, reminds me a bit of Victoria Station in Manchester. It's over twenty years since I've been on a train though, apart from a Steam Train that is. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

Another spectacular capture, plus interesting comment with it. We really appreciate your observations and facts. As far as your comment on mine, I must agree with you. Anyone who has to tack on the word "honest" in front of their name must be suspect. ;o)

This place looks totally different in color! I saw the thumb, and thought, "Oh, that's similar to Mick's shot." Had to check it out. LOL! Nice comparison, and I love the shot!
