Description

Thousands of years ago, there was something constructed at the bottom of a rocky gorge, known as the Abyss. It is not known just what civilization, whether mankind or alien, is responsible for its being there. Its shape and construction, however, was highly advanced. All that remains of it now, is being engulfed by the foliage of the abyss...feeding off whatever decaying matter remains inside of the structure. Original was rendered at 1440 x 1920 pixel size and took 11 1/2 hours to complete. Thanks for viewing and commenting... Bryce Resized, sharpened and sig. with Paint.Net

Oooh, I like this one a lot! It's moody and beautifully rendered. It evokes a zillion or so stories as well. The composition is top of the line, as is the execution, and your written description adds to the already rich and evocative image. I love this!

Wow!This is definitely worth the render time Keith...like the modelling, environment and the water with it's transparency you've given it.I think the real finishing touch is the light shining through the slight hazy fog...very well planned and executed!!!

Spooky, eerie, masterful piece, exceedingly well done! And you know, it really would make a wonderful scene of the walls of Moria, if only the buildings were replaced by the doors of Moria...hehehe...hint, hint for future render...grin

What a wonderful and magical place you've created, Keith. Just beautiful and great story about the history of it. Excellent perspective, cliffs and their textures. Great water and barren foliage .. fantastic work again!

What can I say Keith, another stunner, you're certainly getting the hang of this modelling. This is a great scene and I love the way that excellent structure is built into the rock face. Excellent POV and atmo. Another fav. Tony :-)

This is an incredibly complex piece of work Keith, so I feel that its only right that I put in the same amount of work on my next post! Its so intricate 'grafting' the lements of the structure into the rock face (as has been said already) but I have to repeat it. And, as always in your Sci-Fi (or lighthouse) type images, it leaves one wanting to explore every element, and I wonder what the civilisation was like (as I like to do!) Excellent!

Strangely enough, your description brings to mind the hillside structures of the Native Americans, places that were abandoned for reasons unknown. Beautiful render, Keith, and your narrative makes it even more real--I love this!!

Excelent scene making Keith. The blend of natures work with those from another civilization creates a very mysterious atmosphere. Great work on the fog too. Muis
