Description

I just upgraded to bryce6.1 so while I figure out what's new and import my old files back in I decided to post another version of my hermitage image. This time I changed the camera view, customized a new sky and lighting, and rendered in Premium with "true ambiance" but added DOF...thanks for viewing and your previous comments...hope you like this one!

Beautiful ATMOS, Neil. And I love those jade green structures nestled into the cliff sides. Another stunner.

This lighting is much better than the first one. But I'm afraid I really dont like the DOF because, to my eyes, it's too strong and it makes the scene seem very small, like if the houses are toys, specially in fullsize view. With a real world camera, if the POV is so far away from the subject in focus, I think there isn't such a strong change in focus to the adjacent objects. But I really like this place you've created here. I think you could make several more images exploring its different POV's. Well done.

Nice angle and view. The lighting makes the mountain and its texture look great. Have to agree with Rutra on the DOF, though - it does look like a miniature now.

My intention with DOF was to draw attention only to the buildings and immediate area, and avoid the distraction of the rest of the scene, but I now have to agree it has made them seem more like miniatures. Thanks for pointing this out...still learning how this DOF function works-Neil.

That's why I like it. It seems like you can reach in and touch them.

I have to agree with Rutra in that it does look a bit miniature and it is good that you've acknowledged that .. all part of learning eh? Nevertheless this does not detract from and excellently designed image with great modelling. Tony :-)
