Description

This is out at my sister-in-law's place on Whidbey Island. They have the most beautiful piece of property, I never get tired of taking pictures out there! I've had this one hanging around since last summer, and didn't really know what to do with it. James (awjay) suggested "natural abstract" as a subject the other day in the Forum, and this one jumped out at me as a candidate for that topic. I abstracted it up a bit in postwork, so that the colors and shapes are what it's about.

Wonderful! It is nature's abstract. You did well with the postwork, too.

full size this is a bursting painting-of-a-shot, the trees really have an oil feel almost, and the tactile surfaces are delicious. Against those trees you have those tall yellowish plants, almost like prairie grass, which burst into the picture like flames. Really blazes full size. A burst of a picture. Whoosh!
