Description

This emerald swallowtail really was this green, I added no saturation at all, only a bit of sharpening and framing. It is native to southeast Asia. The moth I posted and the few butterflies I have to post were captured at a special exhibition of hundreds of exotic butterflies in a rain forest conservatory. It was a first time experience for me, and amazing to see so many in one place flying about in a protected enclosure. Thanks very much for your views and comments.

A stunning, absolutely stunning, capture of this lovely Emerald Swallowtail, no doubt from the Olde Sod, Maria! Its wings seem to be shimmering through the light below. Actually, this is the first time I've ever laid eyes on one of this variety, either remotely or in person.

Just stunning! What amazing focus on the main part of the butty and then the little bit of blurring on the edges of the wings! Of course my green loving daughter would want this lovely critter. Well done!
