Description

Another shot from Crich, there will be quite a few over the next few days, so get used to it. Lol. I saw this wondeful car and thought of Janis, the little Gendarme, is taken from another image, that is why he looks a bit out of place. He was right at the edge of the shot and I didn't even know I had captured him until I down loaded all the pictures from my memory card. The crowds of people were fantastic, most of them making the effort to attend in 1940's dress(not like me). We had a great day out, and are already planning the next trip. I am not familiar with French cars so again I have no real information for you, but doesn't it look grand for a 1940's one. Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make. May the sun shine down on you, where ever you are. Glorious sunshine here at the momment but still very cold, and all the windows are being removed and replaced this morning, Brrrrrrrrrrr Brrrrrrrrrr!! I'm playing catch up today and hope to get round to all galleries by the end of it, sorry for late signings.

Great shot Jeff, I love old cars!! I think that this one is a Citroen. Old cars have a 'personality' about them that I love. I have an oldish Lancia Fulvia '(71 I think) bought it to do it up but never got round to it. It sits in the old workshop on the farm but I just can't get rid of it!!!LOL

I thought it was a Citroen myself, the inverted V chevron gives that away, I know that it has Michelin tyres on as well but thats about it, apart from the obvious left hand drive that is.

OMG, I'm very happy! A french car that I adore and a Citoën of the Forties or 45... excellent! Your capture is superb and this small police-mann does not obstruct, clothing are of time, not? Still a large thank you for this superb and nice gift Jeff!

Wow, what a nice shot Jeff. Looks like the trip with Alan was a success. I remember these cars well. I lived in the French sector of Berlin after the war. The French occupied Bezirke Reinickendorf and Wedding. The French brass used these Citroens for official duties. They were widespread in the late 40s. I always liked them . Great shot, Sig...
