Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Cool Shot - literaly. :-) There is quite a history in those tunnels - they are officially called sheds. Don't know why. I've never seen one from where you were. Very interesting.

I wish you had put your son in the shot Marilyn, just to give us a sense of scale, your narrative suggests that this tunnel is huge. That new camera of yours has made it look quite small. Looking at it here I would have guessed it about eight feet, comfortable for a person to walk through. You say the bulldozers can go through, the bulldozer I used to drive had an eight foot tall rock blade and I was sat another few feet above that. That would put the tunnel at about eighteen to twenty feet high, thats some tunnel through the side of a mountain, it looks rough hewn as well, I bet it took some time to dig it out. I would love to have a walk through it, I can see some of the chunks of ice hanging down, it would have to be in the summer months I guess. Superb capture, if somewhat bright round the snowy edges, excellent narrative, good information. Bravo!!!!!

I didn't realize those tunnels were so 'roughly' cut. That's a cool place to see.

Step gingerly! Splendid POV, DOF and textures on display here, although I believe this is what is meant by tempting fate. This is really eerie, Marilyn, reminiscent of the horror cave movies I love so much.

Very cool shot my friend :)

The size of this place is Very Deceptive. I would have thought by the photo it was only 8 or 10 feet tall, but VW Bug sized cicles Ain't no joke!!
