Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I think Donner Lake is so pretty and the town is quaint. But I'm with you...snow on the beach is not for me.

this has to be a first for me ,snow on a beach .we are pretty cold here on the northeast coast but i dont think i`ve ever seen snow on beach although it does snow right on the coastline .interesting shot marilyn :o)..excellent mick

I'm like Mick in that I have never sen snow on a beach, apart from the beach at the local lake. I tend to stay away from the seaside in winter though, I have to travel over fifty miles to get to the nearest proper beach. Also as Mick says, an interesting shot Marilyn. Bravo!!!!! We're boring us English, we all think the same. Lol.

Quite alarming! Unlike Jeff it takes me only 10 minutes maximum to get to the beach, and I do go down all weathers with the dogs. But SNOW! I don't recall ever seeing it down there.

Just perfect for the annual Arctic Plunge...lol...yea, they do that every year here in the Susquehanna River. I'd rather have it with about 85 degrees and just sand.

Just so you know, this IS on a lake, Donner Lake in the Sierras of California. If it were snow at the ocean, I'd be REALLY worried!!

And, like mickuk50, this is a new sight for me also. I've always associated the beach with warmer elements: hot sand, warm water, etc. In any event, nice POV, contrasts and textural effects in this shot, Marilyn.
jocko500
no swimming I guess. lol cool shot

Yup - I would expect snow there! It's about 6,000 feet above sea level, in the mountains, and it's cooooooolllllllddddd up there! I'll stay down here where it's warm, thanks! :)
