A recurring character from the Twilight Blades, a D&D Forgotten Realms campaign set in Aglarond drawn from the "Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting" by Ed Greenwood, Sean K. Reynolds, Skip Williams & Rob Heinsoo. �She is with out a doubt the most powerful woman to walk Toril,� Rynard said with reverence. �Even in her gentlest mood, she has fierceness about her� like the calm before a storm, and I would never want to witness the storm she could be!� �I�ve heard she�s mad,� Cosar nearly whispered, his voice tinged with fear, �and for so mighty a mage that can�t be good!� �She is not mad!� Rynard shot back. �She simply does not care what others think of her. Although, I must admit, her moods have mellowed much in recent years� since Elminster of Shadowdale has become a more frequent visitor to her palace.� �I don�t know how comforting that thought is,� Talice said with a cocky smile. �I would hate to see the ruin a lover�s spat between them could wrought!� A fluttering sound from the tree above them drew their eyes. Strangely, none of them had noticed the raven perched there before. �Doesn�t the Simbul often travel in the guise of a raven?� Courynn asked, cutting short the other�s laughter. �Yes,� Rynard answered weakly. �But it could not be�� his voice trailed off as the raven sprang into flight, passing barely a foot over their heads, then disappearing into the night. Rynard looked to his companions. �Could it?�� One of the �Seven Sisters�, a Chosen of Mystra, and the queen of Aglarond for more than five decades, Alassra Silverhand is known through out Faerun simply as the Simbul. Immortal, and driven to master the �Art� (magic), she has turned back whole armies single handedly, but has been heedless of the damage she does until recently, when the worst of her berserk rages have been mellowed by her lover, Elminster, the legendary Sage of Shadowdale. Known to constantly flit about Faerun in many guises, often in the form of a raven, the very thought of facing her in battle is enough to cause Red Wizards of Thay to faint. Although the Twilight Blades have not encountered her, to their knowledge, their loyalty to the Simbul�s reign, and the united Aglarond that she represents, has weighed heavily on many of their actions and intentions. To various degrees, each of them recognizes that it is the Simbul who holds Aglarond together, either by loyalty or fear, and that without her the costal cities and the Yuirwood would descend into civil war. I'm always reluctant to render characters from published material, especial such prominate ones, since most people have their own mental image... so I appologize if she doesn't live up to anyone's expectation!
