Description
Standing under these magnificent columns one can almost envision the 2nd story wrap around gallery that the few remaining ironworks as pictured here used to decorate. This is part of what remains today of the Windsor Mansion located in Central Southwest Mississippi.
My previous post Windsor Ruins #2 gives a better view of the columns and links to more detailed information of the Southern Mansion that burned to the ground almost 120 years ago.
Thanks much for stopping by. Any observations are appreciated.

Magnificent capture the way the columns are framing the tree. Truly superb photography, marshall!

I have found your wonderful series of pictures of Windsor to be most fascinating! I am now doing research to find out more about this place. I know that the blueprints and all known photographs went up in the fire that consumed the mansion, but there is a sketch by a Union soldier that has been discovered. I have attempted to use Photogrammetry on the few pictures of the house that are available to me and maybe someday I'll try to do a 3D recreation based on what I am able to gather. Terrific work. Thank you.
