Description

A break from The Tramway Museum. I found this yesterday in the garden, and at 2cm in length, I thought it was worth a couple of shots, even though it is dead. The one with the rule in, I was shaking so much trying to hold the rule and focus at the same time. The focus lost. The first shot is taken without flash, the second one with flash. Please zoom for detail. Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make. May the sun shine down on you, where ever you are.

I challenge you, Jeff. to give us a live one!!! Those nashers are for cutting up meat, by the way. Have an outdoor meal and give them the choice of jam or steak and they usuually go for the protein!

Excellent close ups, despite me not being able to identify the wasp. So, yellow wasp until somebody does a closer ID, lol.

Yikes! Don't blame your hands for shaking. To me it looks like a hornet, but that's my untrained entemologist's eye.

Stellar series of shots. Very interesting and very well done macros...all. I hate these guys and I easily believe that saw-like mouth. They are vicious creatures when unhappy and they really can hurt!

Excellent set! I don't like wasps. Once I was in my car at a set of traffic lights. A wasp flew through the window I got out. The driver behind was to too happy with me!

Outstanding Macros Jeff, I've been stung a few times from these guys before now, nasty so and so's. I get away from them quickly now but I think they can sense fear and don't leave you alone lol. Fantastic postwork I esp. like the top one showing the razor-like mouth urrrrr!
