SHAKING HOUSES
ROSMARIJNSTEEG AMSTERDAM
If you’re turning around on yesterdays “Luciensteeg” you will see these “shaking houses“ . Its the Rosmarijnsteeg, in the centre of old Amsterdam.
This one is for koosievantutte, who told yesterday about building “on the fly” I cant believe they did this on purpose, still its a remarkable weird view.
Take care, have a great day.

Quite freaky I must say. Great shot though. xx

Interesting street scene packed with detailed building and pleasant architecture. If one looks at the alignment of building one gets real worried.

How strange! Wonderful capture!

Koosievantutte is right: they used to build with the facades leaning over on purpose. Even in the middle ages houses were build with protruding upper floors for the same reason. But these houses are ca 350 years old so some saging is present too, as is visible in the wooden facade, left in the picture. I like the capture, though!

very fine image again - and, yes, there are houses in a poor state too :-)

Such a captivating scene. Excellent shot and love all the little details. Not sure I'd be comfortable walking down the street, tho. Wonderful capture!
